Commercial credit transfer
SEPA credit transfer
SEPA credit transfers are used within the Netherlands and other SEPA countries. You can use single credit transfers or multiple credit transfers at once using a credit transfer batch. SEPA credit transfer batches are delivered by you in the PAIN (XML) file format. You need not maintain separate accounts for credit transfers in and to other SEPA countries. All you need is your ABN AMRO account in the Netherlands.

Superfast payments (Instant Payments)
Most SEPA credit transfers can be credited to the recipient's account within seconds. These instant payments are possible if the bank you are transferring money to also participates. In the Netherlands and other SEPA countries most banks do. You don't have to do anything for this. Just before you send your credit transfer, you will see ‘With the recipient: Immediately’. This way you know that your payment will be superfast. Otherwise, it will say 'Within 1 working day'.
Credit transfer
Urgent credit transfers
If a credit transfer can be processed as an instant payment, there us no need for an urgent credit transfer. Because instant payments are credited to the recipient's account within seconds. In Internet Banking and Access Online, we check this for you automatically. Only if an instant payment is not possible, you can choose to make an urgent payment.
Standing Orders
If you pay the same bills every month, simply set up a standing order. We'll take care of the rest. And standing orders are also processed as instant payments, provided the recipient's bank cooperates.
Foreign credit transfers
You can transfer money to virtually any country in the world, either in euros or other currencies.
IBAN-Acceptgiro
With effect from 1 June 2023, we will no longer process acceptgiros.
Instruction to pay
Do you want to clearly present the payment details on your paper or digital invoice? Then, the Instruction to pay might be a useful tool.
Frequently asked questions
How can I reverse a credit transfer?
You cannot reverse a credit transfer or standing order. You can only ask the beneficiary to return the amount.
How can I see whether a credit transfer can be credited to the recipient's account within seconds?
You will see in the summary of the entry: 'With the recipient: Immediately'. If the recipient's bank does not (yet) cooperate, you will see: 'With the recipient: Within 1 working day'.
Instant payments via Access Online: how does it work exactly?
You use the new credit transfer screen in Access Online Renewed for this purpose. Navigate to the main menu and choose Cash Management > New credit transfer. While entering the data you see 'With the recipient: Immediately' when the money can be credited to the recipient's account within seconds. If the recipient's bank does not (yet) cooperate, you will see: 'With the recipient: Within 1 working day'.
Credit transfers initiated via Cash Management > Classic payments cannot be processed as instant payments.
What is the cost of a credit transfer that is processed as an Instant Payment?
You pay the fee of a regular SEPA credit transfer.
What happens if the credit transfer cannot be credited to the recipient's account?
You will get your money back. You will first see that the amount has been debited from your account and then that it has been credited again. In case of an instant payment this happens within seconds. In case of a regular SEPA credit transfer, it may take a few days before the money is returned. You also see why the credit transfer was not successful.
What does 'Maximum processing time reached' mean?
Sometimes it turns out that a credit transfer cannot be credited to the recipient’s account within seconds after all. Because, for example, the recipient’s bank has a temporary technical fault. Then the money will be credited back to your account with the message 'Maximum processing time reached'. Then you can try to transfer the money again at a later point in time.
